Dog Wash FAQs
and Scrub Club Rules

You already know the answer to, “Who’s a good girl (or boy)?” But do you know how often you should wash your dog? Or clean her ears? Or if reservations are required at Scrubbin’ Pup? We’ve got answers to these and other frequently asked questions.

CARING FOR YOUR BEST FURRY FRIEND

Generally speaking, dogs need baths when they have a noticeable odor, you can see dirt in their coat or after swimming. But there are also several other factors to consider, including:

  • Type of coat
  • Outdoor activity level
  • Condition of your pup’s skin
  • Health of other householdmembers

Many dogs benefit from weekly washes, while others may be better off with a less frequent regimen. It is best to speak with your vet for recommendations specific to your breed and its lifestyle.

It is important to use shampoos that are specifically formulated for dogs. Don’t use human shampoo. And please, please, please don’t use dishwashing detergent!

Scrubbin’ Pup provides trouble-free bubbles — for free! Our top-quality shampoo and conditioner promotes a healthy PH balance by gently cleansing your canine’s coat without drying out the skin.

Yes! If your dog has sensitive skin, sheds excessively or has another condition that requires a medicated shampoo you are welcome to use it in our dog-wash stations. Ditto for all the posh pooches out there who already have a favorite brand that keeps their fur fashionably floofy without the frizzies

Please note: The shampoo/conditioner is dispensed through the water nozzle so it needs to be set to the rinse cycle if using your own shampoo/conditioner.

Good hygiene habits will keep your pup happy and healthy. Experts typically recommend weekly ear cleaning, nail clipping, coat combing and conditioning. Frequent teeth brushing — at least two or three times per week — is also important.

Scrubbin’ Pup has all the supplies you need to care for your dog between washes. We even have mouthwash. (Because dog breath … ew!) Check out How Scrubbin’ Pup Works for a complete list.

Oof. Our hearts go out to the poor pooch, but we currently do not allow dogs that have been sprayed by skunks to be washed at Scrubbin’ Pup. The strong odor lingers throughout the day, creating an unpleasant experience for other members. We want to maintain a comfortable environment for all dogs and their owners, as well as the businesses next to us. Thank you for understanding.
