FAQ

CARING FOR YOUR BEST FURRY FRIEND
How often should I wash my dog?

Generally speaking, dogs need baths when they have a noticeable odor, you can see dirt in their coat or after swimming. But there are also several other factors to consider, including:

  • Type of coat
  • Outdoor activity level
  • Condition of your pup’s skin
  • Health of other house holdmembers

Many dogs benefit from weekly washes, while others may be better off with a less frequent regimen. It is best to speak with your vet for recommendations specific to your breed and its lifestyle.

What can I use to wash
my dog?

It is important to use shampoos that are specifically formulated for dogs. Don’t use human shampoo. And please, please, please don’t use dishwashing detergent!

Scrubbin’ Pup provides trouble-free bubbles — for free! Our top-quality shampoo and conditioner promotes a healthy pH balance by gently cleansing your canine’s coat without drying out the skin.

Can I bring my own shampoo to Scrubbin’ Pup?

Yes! If your dog has sensitive skin, sheds excessively or has another condition that requires a medicated shampoo you are welcome to use it in our dog-wash stations. Ditto for all the posh pooches out there who already have a favorite brand that keeps their fur fashionably floofy without the frizzies.

Please note: The shampoo/conditioner is dispensed through the water nozzle so it needs to be set to the rinse cycle if using your own shampoo/conditioner.

Is grooming necessary between dog baths?

Good hygiene habits will keep your pup happy and healthy. Experts typically recommend weekly ear cleaning, nail clipping, coat combing and conditioning. Frequent teeth brushing — at least two or three times per week — is also important.

Scrubbin’ Pup has all the supplies you need to care for your dog between washes. We even have mouthwash. (Because dog breath … ew!) Check out How Scrubbin’ Pup Works for a complete list.

What if my dog was sprayed by a skunk?

Oof. Our hearts go out to the poor pooch, but we currently do not allow dogs that have been sprayed by skunks to be washed at Scrubbin’ Pup. The strong odor lingers throughout the day, creating an unpleasant experience for other members. We want to maintain a comfortable environment for all dogs and their owners, as well as the businesses next to us. Thank you for understanding.

How many dog washing stations does Scrubbin’ Pup have?

We have two elevated tubs; both are generously sized. There are no dog weight limits or measurement restrictions for use, but only one animal is allowed in a tub at a time. Additional dogs can be secured in the designated space next to the tub you are using.

Are reservations required?

No. Our self-serve dog wash operates on a first-come, first-served basis. If both dog washing stations are in use, please make yourself comfortable in our waiting area where you can surf the subway, crush some candy or try to connect the purple words first.

Is there a time limit on baths?

Single-wash tokens last for 10 minutes. You are welcome to use as many tokens as needed to clean your canine companion, but please be mindful of other dog owners who are waiting.

How do I purchase a single wash or a membership?

All washes are purchased online.

How do I cancel my membership?

Say it ain’t so. We hate to see you go! But if it truly is goodbye, you can cancel through our member portal at any time.
